The Fort Schuyler Group. LLC is a family owned business that was established in January 2004 by the husband and wife team of Gary and Jennifer Wereszynski along with Jennifer’s mother, Nolita Johnson.

From his earliest memories, Gary, a native of the Utica area, was always inspired by the 19th century architecture of the city and had hopes of restoring as many as he could to their original grandeur.

It has always been his thought that this would be the best way for him to give back to the community that has been his family’s home for over three generations. Gary holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Rochester and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. Jennifer and Gary met while Gary was living in Dallas, Texas, working for the IBM Corporation.  Gary is currently a trustee of The Landmarks Society of Greater Utica.

Jennifer, an Oklahoma native had moved to Dallas with her parents at the age of fifteen. After receiving a BS in Business from the University of Texas at Dallas, Jennifer was captivated by the local property investment scene. She worked for several investors in the Dallas area and put her knowledge to work once the couple relocated to Utica, NY.  Jennifer is currently a trustee of The Landmarks Society of Greater Utica.


Nolita, a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University, has been an educator her entire career and always dreamed of being in the property renovation business. Putting 100% faith in the skills of her daughter and son-in-law, Nolita took the plunge and became the third partner in the company and its greatest benefactor.
